Reusable Beeswax Wraps

Let me tell you about these reusable beeswax wraps.

Beeswax wraps are pieces of fabric that have been coated in beeswax, making them reusable and semi water proof. These wraps replace the need for plastic bags and reduce the amount of plastic needed overall.

Ive seen ads for them before on the internets and then about a week ago I saw this one on Instagram. That video got the wheels turning. I knew that my local health store had beeswax and that this would be a quick and very satisfying craft.

I made mine slightly different that the ones in the linked video above but the concept is the same.

Ive listed nine sets of sandwich and snack sized wraps in my Etsy shop.

Bee the buzz of the office with these wraps!

Friday Links

Made it through another week! Phew!

Real life is stressful and each week I count my blessings that we made it. I cannot wait for real life to settle down and get into a routine.

This weeks links are a bit political. Don’t like it- don’t click it,

+Thought Rachel Dolezal was done being black, or even in the news? She has a book coming out! This article has so many good points, What a piece of work, huh.

+Have you heard of the controversy over Tula Pinks newest line Spirit Animal? There are plenty of comments calling those that agree with the pull of the fabric “social media bullies” and “snowflakes”. And plenty of people commenting that they are Cherokee and not offended because…I don’t understand that one. I think we all need to take a look at cultural appropriation and we need to keep fighting for those that cant.  This article says everything I can’t.

+The Slaughter of Yellowstone Bison– Protect the wild in wild bison. Otherwise, they go extinct.

+How liberals fell in love with the West Wing.

+Has anyone tried this Inner Balance thingy. Ive been thinking about getting my husband one to help with his anxieties.

We have no big plans for this weekend. Hopefully the sun warms up outside a bit more and we can get some puppy dates going. 🙂

Till next week-

See it all pouch

Ahh lets see- I made this See It All Pouch last year in November.

The pattern is simple and straight forward. You can find the pattern here and lots of other cute pouches on Instagram!

I added cute salvage from Cotton and Steel. I always like adding positive affirmations any place that I can. 🙂

Currently one bag is still holding the markers. But team Daniel Tiger has moved on to a new home. The pouch now holds all of my La Passacaglia quilt stuff. They are super handy.

I know that Laura used heavy weight vinyl. I used the cheap stuff. I think its gaged 4. Its pretty thin and soft. I am sure if I used it heavily the bag would rip. Must use caution or redo with better vinyl. hahha.

Tomorrow I plan on attending the Quilt show in Rosemont – Do I know anyone else attending?
